Happy celebration of all UP

Posted on March 03, 2014

Interacting with the other choirs under the UP choir umbrella constitutes a match made in heaven and the choirs will conclude the evening with a mass choir performance of a special African song.

The UP Youth Choir is a vibrant, multicultural youth choir of 84 teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age, from 32 schools and tertiary institutions in the greater Tshwane area. The choir has an active program that aims to embrace social development issues. This choir festival will mark the launch of two UPYC initiatives, namely the HAPPY campaign and car raffle.

The UP Youth Choir aims to utilize their monthly choir festivals to implement their HAPPY campaign, which is aimed at involving the youth and the communities they operate in through popular social media (#UPYC HAPPY), positive thoughts and actions. It is one HAPPY project that will be the trade mark for all other concerts this year.

The event will also be the launch of a car raffle aimed at raising funds for the choir’s planned tour to Europe. The choir will be the only choir to represent South Africa at the Summa Cum Laude international youth music competition in Vienna from 4 – 8 July 2014 and will participate in the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia from 9 – 14 July 2014 along with 486 other choirs from 60 countries. A donation of R100 will enable you to be part of the draw that can win participants a brand new Toyota Etios 1.5 Xi.

Tickets to attend this event can be pre-booked and paid for on [email protected]. Tickets that are pre-booked on our ticket-line are available at R70-00 per ticket, but tickets will also be available at the door on the evening at R80-00 per ticket.
