UP LAW CLINIC - 2019 OUTREACH INITIATIVE #CLASSOF2019

The University of Pretoria Law Clinic forms part of the Faculty of Law and engages in Clinical Legal Education (CLE) for final year law students. At the Law Clinic, students have the opportunity to explore the practical application of theoretical study by providing legal aid services to the indigent thereby increasing access to justice.

This year, we have extended our community engagement to an outreach initiative at the Louis Botha Children’s Home. This is a voluntary initiative which will consist of the collection of items (as listed below) over a 1-2 month period and volunteer work on one or two days during September 2019.

The list of items includes:

FOOD:  Non-perishable items, pasta and rice, soya, meat and meat products, vegetables, fruit, long-life milk, sugar, coffee, margarine, bread, cereals, porridge.

TOILETRIES:  Shampoo and conditioner, hair relaxer, bath soap, roll on, Zambuk, Vaseline, disposable razors, sensitive teeth toothpaste, mouthwash.

CLEANING SUPPLIES: Toilet paper, floor and furniture polish, washing powder, dishwashing liquid, thick bleach, toilet spray, all-purpose cleaner.

OTC MEDICINE: Tonzolyt, rescue remedy, magnesium, calcium, multi –vitamins, Echinaforce, Brufin 200mg tablets, superfloss (for the kids with braces), muscle rubs.

CLOTHING ITEMS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME

We will be hosting the collection of items until Monday 23 September 2019 at the University of Pretoria Law Clinic, Office A13 situated at 1107 South Street, Hatfield Pretoria. Should YOU wish to contribute, please proceed to reception for assistance and/or delivery of said items.
