Law Clinic takes AmaRula Gold (and Silver)!

Posted on September 17, 2012

Spring Day 2012 was a golden day for the Law Clinic, as they managed to walk away with two prizes on this festive day.  The proof was indeed in the pudding!

The Law Clinic won the prize with their 'AmaRula Gold' recipe for the Most original pudding recipe and obtained second place with an average of 93.5% in the Overall potjiekos winners category.

Several tasting sessions days before the Competition resulted in a perfect heavenly combination of an adjusted malva pudding recipe, one of South Africa's favourite creamy liqueurs, Amarula, and healthy strawberries.

According to the 'recipe founder', Aniki Grobbelaar, the name of the winning recipe 'AmaRula Gold’ has several meanings: AmaTuks is part of UP's culture and therefore the spelling 'AmaRula'; the 'gold' is not only descriptive of the rich colour of the pudding, but it also indicates the pudding's golden status; further, it also projected the Clinic's slogan for the event: 'Law Clinic for Gold!'

She says that 'the Clinic has decided on an Olympic theme for the event as it is energetic and vibrant.  The 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics were a great inspiration to all!"
