PSANA EXCO Meeting

Post Graduate Week

• The HOD’s decided, at the HOD meeting, not to hold the postgraduate week. They prefer to have seminars throughout the year. PSANA will thus work VERY closely with Faculty Marketing and Prof Brenda Wingfield to market the seminars to all postgraduate students as well (not just within departments). Second year students should be the main target as they are the students who are not sure what they will be doing postgraduate studies. Third year, honours and masters students should also be informed although they would not be the main focus.
• The Dean, however, expressed he would still like PSANA to organize something this year. We discussed this and decided there is not enough time to get something organized, nor is it a good time for students as the exams are very close.

Elections

• James will draft a call for nominations email which we will send out to our student mailing list and to the HOD’s and their secretaries. They will have 2-3 weeks to get the nominations in, with a short paragraph on why the nominee is suited for the position.
• The new committee will then be decided on by the end of November.
