Sfundo Cebolenkosi Gumede is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT). He has a decade of lecturing experience. He has taught a variety mathematics and statistics modules to engineering, management as well as natural sciences students at undergraduate level. Sfundo completed his Bachelor of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) and Honours Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) both at the University of Zululand (UNIZULU). He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDip.(HE)) which he completed at Rhodes University which was followed by a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN). Sfundo has recently completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics at UKZN. His general research interest is in the analyses and applications of differential equations in mathematics. In his PhD he used various techniques to analyse and solve differential equations that have applications in mathematical physics, particularly in General Relativity. His research has led to publications in high impact journals. Sfundo is an open-minded and have interests in different areas of mathematics.
