Dr Timotheus Brian Darikwa

Dr. Timotheus Brian Darikwa is a lecturer of statistics and operations research at the University of Limpopo in South Africa. He has authored journal articles, book chapters and several manuscripts on applications of statistics and technical demography to public health outcomes.

Timotheus’s research focuses on developing multivariate spatial statistics for detecting joint clusters for dependent data with special applications to related health outcomes and their associated risk factors. He is currently in the process of developing a user friendly R-package for the method they recently developed with co-researchers for detecting joint spatial clusters for more than two related outcomes using a canonical correlation analysis approach.

Timotheus was recently awarded a fellowship in the Mathematical Sciences Early Career Development programme for 2022. He intends to use this programme to map out a path for a successful academic career focusing on research, student research supervision as well as teaching and learning in a changing environment.
