Current Work Mr Tshikhudo Lukoto is currently a PhD candidate in Mathematics at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He is also employed at the University of Limpopo as a lecturer. Before lecturing at the University of Limpopo, he also worked as an associate lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand for three years, from July 2009 to June 2012. He has experience in lecturing most undergraduate mathematics course which includes first level Calculus, Algebra, set theory and logic; Second level Advanced calculus; Third level complex analysis. He has also lectured postgraduate, honours level Functional analysis as well as successfully supervising an honours project in Mathematics. Degrees obtained Tshikhudo obtained a B.Sc Degree with majors in Mathematics and Mathematical statistics in 2008, followed by honours in Mathematics which he passed with a distinction in 2009. In 2016 he then enrolled for an M.Sc degree in Mathematics at UJ and obtained this degree in 2017. He then registered for PhD in 2018 till present. Research Interest His research area is in Banach algebras and the spectral theory, a branch in Functional analysis. In his PhD studies he is investigating the Perturbation ideals in (semi)regualrities in Banach algebra. Community Projects He is also actively involved in community engagement projects, mostly working with high schools in rural areas of Limpopo assisting them with mathematics. Some of the school he has mostly visited include St. Bedes High school near Mankweng, Majeje High school in Phalaborwa and helping students in Frans Mohlala High in Mankweng. He was also involved with the Siyanqoba regional Olympiad training program under University of Limpopo region from 2017 to 2020, which is a program under the South African Mathematics Foundations (SAMF). The aim of this program is to train High school students in answering questions when they enter the mathematics Olympiad competition |
