Lyson Chaka

Lyson Chaka is currently studying towards his PhD in Statistics at the University of South Africa (UNISA). He obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree, and a Master of Science degree in Statistics at UNISA in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Prior to that, he was a student at the Zimbabwe Open University where he completed his undergraduate Bacheclor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics in 2006, and a Masters degree in Business Administration in 2014. He is currently a Statistics lecturer at Sol Plaatje University as well as an Independent Contractor (Marker) in the Department of Statistics at UNISA.

Prior to joining Sol Platje University as a Statistics lecturer, Lyson served as a mathematics educator in the Ministry of Education Sport and Culture in Zimbabwe from 2001 to 2007, as well as in the Limpopo, Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga Departments of Education in South Africa from 2008 to 2018. Lyson’s research interest includes but not limited to Statistical Modelling of Experimental Designs, with emphasis on use of general linear models (GLMs), nono-linear models (NLMs) and generalized linear models (GLIMs) in Multivatriate Statistics and Time Series. Over the past years, he has been working on contributing to the body of knowledge in modelling and analysis of complex factorial designs that involve hybrid factor levels.
