Dr. Lateef Olakunle Jolaoso is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (formerly, Medical University of South Africa). He completed his MSc with Suma Cum Laude and Ph.D. at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His current research interests are focused on theory and methods for solving nonlinear and continuous optimization with special interest in applications to machine learning. He has published more than 60 research articles in many reputable international journals. He also serves as reviewer for some international journals which includes Optimization, Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Journal of Inequalities and Applications, etc. Dr Jolaoso is an active member of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), South African Mathematical Society (SAMS) and Nigerian Mathematical Soceity (NMS). He has mentored two postgraduate students on nonlinear optimization problems. He has also engineered some community projects at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.
