The MusicWorks Experience - Cape Town

10 October 2019

The MUSICWORKS

Experience, Cape Town

MUSICWORKS, an organising partner of the WCMT 2020 would like to invite delegates to Cape Town for an up-close experience of our approach; collaborative musical experiences; and an opportunity to enjoy the diversity of our beautiful city.

Cape Town has justifiably been voted as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its beautiful oceans, weather, wine growing region not to mention the iconic Table Mountain, it is not hard to see why.

Description:

MUSICWORKS, a non-profit organization that uses music to support the resilience of young people and their communities, is based in this iconic city. As one of the organising partners for the 2020 World Congress of Music Therapy, MUSICWORKS would like to invite delegates for a post conference visit to Cape Town for The MUSICWORKS Experience | Cape Town.

Through listening closely to people’s stories, worries, hopes, and tragedies; and listening equally closely to their music, MUSICWORKS has emerged from quiet beginnings in 2003 as a music therapy organisation, (the Music Therapy Community Clinic), to a vivacious hub of diverse musical and social engagements with people in Cape Town. During your time in Cape Town, expect to have an up-close experience of our approach; collaborative musical experiences; and opportunities to hone your skills on a diverse range of indigenous African instruments and musical genres whilst working alongside MUSICWORKS’ team of community musicians and music therapists.
