Networking meetings

The Black Music Therapy Network meeting:

The Black Music Therapy Network, Inc. (BMTN) will hold its first virtual gathering at the World Congress of Music Therapy on July 9, 2020

BMTN was created as a response to the need for interconnectivity amongst the Black music therapy community. The purpose of this gathering is to foster holistic professional growth and support for participants as they strive towards effective stewardship within the communities they serve. All Black music therapists, Black music therapy degree- or credential-seeking professionals, and Black WCMT participants are welcomed to attend this gathering and connect with the global Black music therapy community.

The virtual session will take place on July 9, 2020, at 15h00 South Africa Standard Time.

The African Networking meeting:

We invite all arts therapists and community based arts practitioners working in Africa, whether indigenous to the African continent, or from abroad, to attend a meeting on 08 August 2020 @ 12h00 (GMT +2).

As the 16th World Congress is the first to have been hosted by an African country, it feels important for the congress to be the springboard for creating a network of  African therapists and community based practitioners who use the arts in different settings. The hope is to begin dialogue and identify how we might find ways of creating partnerships and opportunities to learn from one another.
