Law House makes a difference (Feeding our children)

Posted on April 04, 2011

The children were very appreciative of the food that was handed out, such as hotsdog, a variety of fruit, a packet of crisps, fruit juice and an ice cream.

With a turmoil of emotions we witnessed how the children enjoyed and appreciated every morsel, in particular as most of us take daily food and a variety thereof for granted.  The Principal told us that this could be the only meal of the day for most of the learners.

Some shocking stats about hunger :

  • 26% of malnourished children live in Africa
  • 2 Million children die every year from water related diseases
  • 6 Million children die of hunger in Africa every year
  • 300 Million  children go to bed hungry every night.

I would like to invite every student on Campus to participate in the next community outreach. Not only would you make a difference in someone's life for a day, but your attitude on life will change forever.

Pete Domenici once said: “I have said democracy and freedom do not work too well if you are hungry, if you are starving”.
