Posted on August 26, 2013

LLM Scholarship   This scholarship includes admission to the LLM programme, a full tuition waiver and a stipend that will partially cover living expenses from the Institute for African Development at Cornell Law School.   The successful applicant will however have to contribute approximately USD10 000 to cover the remaining living expenses. Part-time student employment opportunities that can assist in covering these costs are in principle available in Cornell.   South Africans, as well as nationals from other African countries, who hold an LLB-degree from the University of Pretoria, or will hold such a degree by August 2014 may apply. Interested students should submit a CV, comprehensive academic transcript and letter of motivation of 300 words maximum to Ms Pumeza Matwa ([email protected]) at ICLA by no later than 30 September 2013.    Exchange Position   LLB and LLM TuksLaw students also have the possibility to compete for a one semester exchange-position at Cornell. LLB students can obtain credit for electives recognised by the Dean, while LLMs can obtain credit for up to two modules that fulfill the UP Faculty requirements.   Although no tuition will be charged, the successful candidate will have to cover his/her own travel and accommodation expenses.   Interested students should submit a CV, comprehensive academic transcript and letter of motivation of 300 words maximum to Ms Pumeza Matwa ([email protected]) at ICLA by no later than 30 September 2013.
