GIBS full-time MBA Scholarships 2013

Posted on September 13, 2012

The University of Pretoria's Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) is offering part-scholarships to two successful applicants for the 2013 intake of the school's full-time MBA programme.

GIBS will award a R100 000 scholarship to each of the top two candidates. The scholarships will be used to offset the normal tuition fees with the student covering the residual.

Shireen Chengadu, executive director: academic programmes at GIBS, said, "We believe that in order for South Africa to realise economic growth and become more globally competitive, there has to be an increase in the number of general managers and entrepreneurs.

"We are delighted to offer these scholarships and will ensure that they are awarded to the best candidates who can demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and career progression irrespective of their race or gender. Through these individuals we hope to contribute to the number of entrepreneurs and general managers in coming years."

All candidates who are offered a place for the 2013 full-time MBA intake will automatically be considered for the scholarships provided they are not recipients of any funding from other corporates. The top ten applicants who meet the qualifying criteria will participate in a round of one-on-one interviews, after which the top two candidates will be selected.

The GIBS full-time MBA programme offers dual entrepreneurship and general management tracks. Applications for the 2013 programme will close on the 12th of November 2012.
