NWU travel to Pretoria to take on two-time champions UP-Tuks at the Tuks Stadium, kick-off is at 18:30.
UP-Tuks have proven to be a hoodoo team for the men from Mafikeng as they have never beaten them since the inception of the Varsity Football tournament. The massive fixture promises to be a fired up encounter as the two giants continue to chase early pacesetters TUT.
The last time the two teams met was in the 2014 semi-final in Mafikeng where UP-Tuks edged NWU through penalties to go on and win the tournament. A lot has changed since and the two teams will be looking for the all-important three points in their quest to secure a top four finish.
UP-Tuks are still looking for their first win in their home ground after a disappointing 1-0 loss against TUT two weeks back, NWU on the other hand are looking for their first win against UP-Tuks and their head coach Amos Xabanisa has vowed to prove that the men from Pretoria are not their hoodoo team.
UP-Tuks are third on the log having accumulated four points from three matches whilst NWU-Mafikeng are sixth on the log with three points from two matches. Fireworks are set to spark at the Tuks stadium as the two giants battle for the three points.
