Huge USSA Gauteng League double for Tuks

The ladies team opened the proceedings by thrashing their opponents 16-0.

Keneilwe Mathibela, Vanessa Siakam, Tshililo Ravhhuazwo and Zilungile Mzizi all registered hat tricks during the game, Pretty Mosoane had a brace, whilst Nonhlahla Phalama and Mendy de Araujo alle scored single.

“We won convincingly though we started the game at a slow pace which is understandable as we haven’t played competitively in more than 2 months,” said the Ladies Team Head Coach, Sello Mokoena.

Tuks scored equal goals in each half, as they went to the break leading 8 – 0.The Tuks ladies will be retaining their lead on the log as collected maximum points.

When the men kicked off, they were under pressure to maintain the standard set by the ladies.

“It’s always tough to play after the ladies team as they look always look to dominate their opponents,” confirmed captain Robyn Swartz.

Looking structured, attempts at goal during the first 15 minutes were all ruled off side. Tuks only got he score board rolling 30th minute after Gadifele Lebepe made no mistake in converting a penalty.

At half time Tuks only led 3-0, but the second half saw them firing on all cylinders to clinch an 8-0 victory.


“We had few minor hiccups, but that can all be sorted pout before the next game. We showed a lot of promise need to build on that,” said coach Selaotse Mosala.

The team will play again tomorrow (3 August) at TuksFootball Field A against the University of Limpopo Medunsa Campus.
