TuksFootball : AmaTuks ready to roll

Posted on September 03, 2010

“A lesson above all was losing crucial players which lead to an imbalance,” said AmaTuks Head Coach, Steve Barker.

Barker confirmed that AmaTuks was in their final preparation stage.

“We are left with a few weeks before the kick -off of the league and I’m glad we are in the final technical stage of preparing the team,” confirmed Barker.

The coming season will be longer than the previous one with AmaTuks having its own new comers.

“We are currently working from a different angle in our approach to the new season. The start of the season will show where we are and what would still be needed to stay in the race,” said Team Manager, Graham Oosthuis

The new season’s line-up will see a contingent of new players coming to the fore as those who saw little action in the previous season have all been released.

“Last season had its hill climbing and joy ride. This season we want to kick off in classic style as the rest shall follow suit,” said Oosthuis.

One on the challenges last season was the critical injuries experienced. The midfielder Aubrey Ngoma was sidelined due to an operation.

“Last season was tough as I never played. Thankfully I am now fully recovered. Last season is behind. We are now looking forward to the new season. It feels great to be back on the field,” said Ngoma.

AmaTuks kicks off its first game at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa against Jomo Cosmos.

“It’s our first game and we are going to give our best to come back with maximum points” said Ngoma confidently.
