The USSA team beat Kwazulu Natal 4-1 in the first game, beat Western Cape 4-2 in the second, Northern Cape 6-0 in the third game but then lost 1-0 to Gauteng.
They found it tough against Mpumalanga in the semi final; the score line was deadlocked at 2-2 after 80 minutes of play and USSA scored a further three goals in the 30 minutes of extra time winning the game 5-2.
The team found themselves pitted again against Gauteng in the final of the tournament. During the final the teams went to half time tie at nil all, and then Gauteng scored 15 minutes into the second half.
Robyn kept the boys calm and they managed to score the equalizer at the death. Due to bad light the game went straight into penalties. Although Robyn had his penalty saved, the USSA goalkeeper saved three penalties and USSA won the game 3-2 on penalties He showed great maturity to lead a group that only trained once in March.
The other Tuks player in the team was centre back Mosa Sesele. We hope they will lead the Tuks team to victory in the 2011 USSA Football National Club Champs in Limpopo in November.
Robyn completed his Sport Science degree and graduated earlier this year and is currently busy with a degree in psychology.
