AmaTuks hold Sundowns to a draw

AmaTuks were first to have a chance at goal in the opening minutes of the game. As early as the third minute striker Dumisani Ngwenya managed to make his way around a cluster of Sundowns defenders before releasing a shot from inside the box, which fell into the hands of Sundowns keeper Wayne Sandilands.

 The visitors registered their goal in the 15th minute, Anthony Laffor cut in from the left and with a bit of space and time he curled a shot beyond the AmaTuks keeper Washington Arubi, putting Sundowns in the lead.

 AmaTuks kept their shape and discipline despite trailing. They never looked out of place agains the multiple title winners.

 An equaliser was imminent as AmaTuks kept pushing forward. A goal came in the half hour mark. Defender, Junior Sibande cancelled out Anthony Laffor’s goal when he received a pass from Aubrey Ngoma from a short corner kick; he released a shot from 35-yards, which deflected off Sundowns’ Eleazar Rodgers and into the net.

 AmaTuks looked dangerous in the last few minutes of the game as they were attacking and pushing for a winning goal. The match ended 1-1. see all results

 Ronald Ketjijere was awarded man of the match for a wonderful performance in the middle of the park. The Namibian international made his debut against Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout and has been a constant feature in the team since.

AmaTuks are still placed 5th on the league table after the draw, with 16 points after 10 games.
