Meanwhile Free State Stars lost to neighbours Bloemfontein Celtic in a Free State Telkom Knockout semi-final derby on the weekend. Stars are sitting 9^th on the log table with thirteen points, after ten games. Their last league match outing was a 1-0 loss to Orlando Pirates.

This will be first competitive meeting in top flight football between Free State Stars and the University of Pretoria.
