On Day 1 of the tournament tthe men's team played their first match at 11h00 against North West University Mafikeng Campus. NWU conceded a penalty in the dying minutes of the match and Matsobane Matsi converted to give the University of Pretoria a 1-0 win.

The women's team was held to a 1-1 draw by a resiliant University of Limpopo Turfloop Campus (UL). The half time score was 0-0 and Tuks drew first blood midway through the second half through striker Tshililo Ravhuandzwo. UL equalized with only 4 minutes left on the clock.

Both teams play their second matches against the University of Cape Town. the men kick off at 11h00 and the women and 15h00.
