AmaTuks ready for Maritzburg in the Last 32

Posted on February 22, 2013

AmaTuks will be competing in the Nedbank Cup as a top flight team for the first time. AmaTuks nearly won the tournament in 2009 when they were still in the National First Division. They ended as runners up after being beaten by Moroka Swallows in the final. They performed strongly the following season (2010) to reach the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile Maritzburg have reached the Nedbank Cup last eight twice in recent years (2009 and 2012) but have not really looked like going on to challenge strongly for the trophy.

Both sides have performed admirably in the league this season. AmaTuks claimed a 1-1 home draw against Swallows in midweek, while Maritzburg suffered a fifth loss from their last seven league games when they were beaten 1-0 by Free State Stars.

This will be the third meeting between AmaTuks and Maritzburg this season. The two teams have already clashed twice in the league and both matches ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tickets for the match are available at Computicket and Shoprite outlets only.

Ticket prices are as follows:
R40 – General admission
R10 – Children
