AmaTuks collect three points against Usuthu

Posted on April 08, 2013

Goals by Bongani Zungu (brace) and Mame Niang saw AmaTuks collecting maximum points on the night.

AmaZulu were the first to take the lead twelve (12) minutes into the match after an error by goal keeper Washington Arubi. Arubi misplaced a clearance that landed straight onto the AmaZulu striker Goodman Dlamini who hit a first time shot back that beat Arubi to the line.

Zungu cancelled Dlamini’s goal in the 16th minute after Niang headed back across gaol to Zungu who wasted no chance and headed the ball first time into the back of the net.

AmaTuks kept pushing forward for a second goal with Niang coming close to extending the lead in the 35th minute. He beat his marker facing the AmaZulu keeper Tapuwa Kapini, forcing him to clear the ball for a corner.

The first attack of the second half fell to AmaZulu, but Arubi did well to clear the ball away for a corner.

Substitute Dipsy Selolwane also came close to scoring in the 59th minute after he played a great one-two combination with Niang and going through the AmaZulu defence, but his final shot was cleared away by Kapini.

AmaTuks took the lead when Niang jumped high to meet a long ball from defence beating Kapini.

Zungu extended the lead in the 77th minute after he beat Kapini who came out to punch the ball from a free kick. He missed the ball and Zungu was there to put his second goal of the match.
