The first shot of the half came from Thokozani Sekotlong after he was left unmarked outside the box, but his on target shot was easily saved by the Sundowns keeper Wayne Sandilands.

Sundowns almost took the lead in the half hour mark after Henyekane found himself unmarked in the box, but his shot went wide.

Wayne Arendse’s goal was ruled off-side two minutes before the half time break after Washington Arubi spilled a shot from Edward Manqele.

The home team took the lead in the 51st minute when Manqele’s misdirected shot found Henyekane unmarked in the box affording him a chance to put in a shot past Arubi from close range.

AmaTuks did not give up and kept pushing forward and putting pressure on the Sundowns defence for an equaliser, showcasing some great play in the middle of the park.

The equaliser came in the 63rd minute when Bongani Zungu made no mistake and netted in for AmaTuks after a failed clearance by the Sundowns defence.

Mpho Maruping made a return after a long absence due to a knee injury he suffered early in the season.

Maruping came close to putting AmaTuks in the lead with seven minutes left into stoppage time. He beat his marker and released a shot that went just inches wide of the Sundowns goals.

In the dying minutes of the game, both teams kept pushing for a winning goal with no luck, ending the match at 1-1 and Zungu named Man of the match.

The results place AmaTuks eighth (8th) on the log table with 32 points from twenty five (25) matches.
