AmaTuks crush Leopards

Posted on April 29, 2013

Bongani Zungu’s first half goal and Mame Niang’s brace in the second half destroyed Lidoda Duvha’s desire to escape the relegation zone threat.

The home team came close to taking the lead as early as the second (2nd) minute when Rodney Ramagalela made a clinical pass to Karabo Tshepe, but Tshepe’s first time shot went over the AmaTuks cross bar.

AmaTuks dominated possession and came close to opening the scores five (5) minutes into the game with Niang’s chested ball going over the Leopards goals. A minute later Niang again came close to scoring when his header went wide off Postnet Omony’s goals.

Zungu opened the scoring for AmaTuks in the eleventh (11th) minute after receiving the ball from Aubrey Ngoma on the left flank, putting in a composed pass into the net from inside the box.

Lidoda Duvha came back from the break with a mission to get the equalizer, but it was not to be as AmaTuks extended the lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute. Niang rose the highest in the box to put in a brilliant header from a corner kick taken by Ngoma.

The home side managed to pull one back through a Raymond Monama goal in the 64th minute. Monama managed to release an on target shot from the edge of the box after he was unattended to by the AmaTuks defence, catching Arubi off his line.

Niang once again extended the lead for AmaTuks in the 80th minute when he received a great pass from defender Charly Moussono-Moussono. He made no mistake tapping the ball into the net, registering his second goal of the match and his 10th of the season.

The win place AmaTuks 8th on the log table with thirty six (36) points with just three (3) games left to wrap up the 2012/2013 season.
