The win saw AmaTuks finish the first season in the elite League on position eight (8) with forty (40) points from thirty (30) matches.
The first real chance at goal fell to AmaTuks in the 11th minute when Aubrey Ngoma broke free down the left and fed Mame Niang in the box, but the Chiefs defenders managed to clear the ball away from danger.
Chiefs had their chance in the 15th minute when Siphiwe Tshabalala put in a cross that hit an AmaTuks defender and fell into Nkhatha's path, but he shot high over the cross bar.
Chiefs had the better of the first half as they missed scoring chances with the AmaTuks defence keeping it solid and keeper Washington Arubi making saves.
Both teams went into the break with the score level at 0-0.
AmaTuks took the lead in the 59th minute when substitute Thabo Mosadi beat the Chiefs defenders, accelerating in pace to score past Itumeleng Khune.
After taking the lead, AmaTuks dominated possession, putting pressure on the Chiefs defence.
In the 75th minute, Aubrey Ngoma outpaced Keegan Ritchie in a counter attack situation, but Khune came off his line to make a block.
Minutes later, Khune was forced to make another save as Ayanda Lubelo made a break through, outpacing the Chiefs defence coming one-on-one with the keeper.
Chiefs came close to levelling the score minutes before the final whistle but Arubi saved Kaizer Motaung Jnr’s overhead kick, as the match ended 1-0.
