Golden Arrows came into the match coming from a 1-0 defeat by Free State Stars in midweek, while AmaTuks also came from an unfortunate 1-0 loss to Platinum Stars.
AmaTuks dominated ball possession in most of the first half proceedings. They applied pressure on Arrows, forcing them to play in their own half.
Massa kept the Arrows goalkeeper Siya Mngoma the busier of the two goalkeepers in the first half. He had an opportunity to put AmaTuks in the lead in the 14th minutes, but his shot was well blocked by Mngoma.
A minute later, AmaTuks took the lead. Massa had to rise higher to head past Mngoma after a brilliant set-piece cross by Siyabonga Ngubane.
Massa continued to pose a threat to Arrows. His left-footed shot from the 18-yard box cannoned off the near upright post after connecting with a Nyondo cross following Arrows’ defensive blunder.
Few minutes later, Philani Shange blasted from the edge of the box but Charly Mousonno-Mousonno threw his body in the line to deny Arrows a potential equaliser.
AmaTuks went into the half time break leading Abafana Be’sthende by a goal (1-0).
Two minutes after the restart, Massa should have added a second goal to his score sheet. Having beaten the off-side trap, he came one-on-one with the Arrows keeper, but his final touch went wide.
Arrows spent much time on the ball in the second half but AmaTuks defensive line denied the visitors an opportunity to shoot goal-wards in the final third.
Welcome Qalanto’s header from a cross had Arubi producing a magnificent save as he punched the ball over for a corner in the 56th minute.
Nyondo scored an insurance goal for AmaTuks with just nine minutes remaining. Second half substitute Mpho Maruping made a decent pass for Nyondo whose left-footed shot from the 6-yard box corner beat Mngoma.
Dipsy Selolwane should have added a third goal for AmaTuks at stoppage time. His effort from a tight angle just cruised past the goalmouth with no one to finish.
The win against arrows places AmaTuks on position ten (10) on the log table with seven (7) points
