The women's team played first, beating TUT Nelspruit 5-0.

The men followed with a match against TUT Emalahleni. Tuks came from 2-0 down to win the match 4-2, with Thabo Ndlovu and Mbongeni Masilela scoring two goals each.
Day 2 of the tournament will see the women going up against DUT Durban and the men take on University of Fort Hare.
