The match had plenty of goal-mouth action in the first half with Miguel Timm threatening for Aces and Massa taking a powerful shot that was comfortably held by Jackson Mabogkwane. In-form Themba Zwane almost opened the scoring for Aces through a close range effort that flew wide of the upright. Massa was proving to be a handful for the Aces defence as he forced a stunning save from in the 18th minute.
Geoffrey Massa was at it again, this time his long-range free-kick was brilliantly saved again by Mabokgwane. Massa’s persistence in attack paid off as he latched onto a long ball from season debutant goalkeeper Trystin Coetsee and finished emphatically by chipping the ball over an on-rushing Mabogkwane to give AmaTuks the lead in the 51st minute.
5 minutes later Onyekachi Okonkwo came close to levelling matters with a long range effort that flew inches wide of the upright. Veteran defender Mbulelo Mabizela should have equalised in the 65th minute but he headed wide from six yards out. Geoffrey Massa had another close range effort which was saved by Mabokgwane in the 75th minute.
AmaTuks managed to not concede a goal and win their tenth match of the season. Coach Steve Barker will be delighted to have completed the double over Aces this season.
