After many years of service to the University, Professor Anton Ströh is now Vice-Principal: Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Education. His appointment has been in effect since the 1st of April 2021 and is set to last until the 31st of December 2024. Professor Ströh started his career at the University of Pretoria in 1986 as a Research Assistant and he has held previous positions as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. He was previously the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences before being appointed as Vice-Principal: Institutional Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in 2014.
Professor Ströh’s qualifications include a BSc: Mathematics and Chemistry; BSc Hons: Mathematics; MSc Mathematics (all cum laude) and a PhD at the University of Pretoria. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Mathematics at the Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw, Poland.
