This seminar analyses book publication from an academic perspective and highlights both the challenges and opportunities that emerge in the process.
Drawing from the personal experience of the presenter, the session explores the stages involved in the publication of a book – from conceptualizing the theme and engaging contributors to production and publication. In addition, the seminar explores the critical dialogue between editors, academic scholars and industry practitioners. The seminar also discusses to logistical and strategic considerations, such as the call for chapters, the peer review and coherence in multi-author volumes. The session will also address the evolving role of academic publishing in research and practice, and how books can serve as a platform to foster a dynamic exchange between academia and professional sectors.
