How to register on the EVDS site and a list of provincial vaccination sites

Posted on August 31, 2021

Dear UP community

This is a friendly reminder for all staff and students 18 years and older to get their vaccination as soon as possible.

You are encouraged to visit any of the external vaccination sites, as set out in the attached spreadsheet anytime from 08:00 to 17:00, weekdays once you have registered on the national Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) see the attached document on how to register.

Should you wish to be vaccinated at UP’s internal site at Prinshof South Campus at the Tswelopele Building, please note:

·       The UP site operates between 09:00 and 13H30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only (excluding public holidays).

·       Appointments are necessary for those using the UP site, which can be made by completing the UP Questionnaire. Complete the UP Questionnaire once per person.

·       These appointments are scheduled during weekday business hours, as they are manually managed by personnel (i.e. it is not an automated process), upon successful verification of your personal profile eligibility on the national EVDS.

IMPORTANT: Due to the current national availability of the UP’s internal site at Prinshof South Campus is administering Pfizer only and this may change depending on the national availability.

Staff who have received the first Pfizer vaccine should wait for a minimum of 42 days and those who have had the virus, at least 30 days before presenting themselves for a vaccination.

For any queries regarding the types of vaccines, please feel free to visit the official SA Coronavirus website

Best regards,

Prof Caroline Nicholson
