Notice to students, parents and guardians regarding financial arrangements

The University of Pretoria (UP) is currently doing everything it can to ensure we continue with the academic programme despite the disruption brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Plans are well advanced to resume teaching and learning online, at least until the end of the first semester. We are also exploring options and alternatives to make sure we can make up any time that was lost due the pandemic.

Part of our plans include supporting students who are in need with the necessary connectivity and equipment to enable them to continue with their students online.

To this end, the University’s management has launched and made contributions to the UP Solidarity Fund to support students in need. We will be asking staff, UP alumni as well as companies to support this initiative. We have also decided to extend the payment of student accounts by two months, to June and September, and are entering into financial arrangements for those who have been negatively financially impacted by the virus and lockdown.

The success and well-being of our students are our priority. We are committed to providing all our students with the necessary support to ensure their success and to do everything possible to make sure that no student is left at a disadvantage.
