Dear Student

The University has made significant progress in acquiring internet-enabled devices for students in need.

Owing to funding constraints, we can only assist students who are in dire financial need and who are genuinely unable to buy a device for themselves. Selection will be based on two criteria: financial need and registered students who regularly attend classes.

We are in the process of identifying students who are eligible and will call them between Monday 20 April 2020 and by no later than Thursday 23 April 2020.

We humbly request that in this hour of need and in solidarity with fellow South Africans, students should resist the temptation of taking undue advantage of this emergency assistance.

Should you qualify, you will be required to sign a Loan and Usage agreement form upon receiving the device.  

At this stage, we are hoping to have most of the deliveries completed by 30 April 2020. We will then resume teaching and learning online on Monday 4 May 2020.  We are also making arrangements to ensure that this does not impact on the rest of the academic programme. More information regarding this will follow soon.

The success of our students is our priority, and we will do everything possible to ensure that no student is disadvantaged.
