In these lectures, I will discuss supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SQM) in both the operator and path integral formalism. The lectures are geared towards the introduction and computation of the Witten index for a variety of quantum mechanical systems. I will show or sketch, depending on time, how index theorems follow naturally from the framework of SQM. Finally, I will discuss the extension to higher dimensions and make a connection with recent work on superconformal indices in four dimensions.
