Keynote Speaker: Professor Jessica Norah Aguti

Jessica Norah Aguti is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Open, Distance & eLearning (ODeL), Makerere University. A few years ago, she was on secondment at the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver as an Education Specialist, Teacher Education. In this role, she conceptualized, managed and implemented teacher education activities to build teachers’, support ministries’, and institutions’ capacity to harness the potential of ODL and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to strengthen and expand teacher education. 

Aguti joined Makerere University in 1990 and has been in leadership at various levels and participated in the growth and development of ODeL in Makerere University, Uganda and the region. She has a vast experience of over thirty years as a secondary school teacher, teacher educator and university lecturer. Aguti has researched, written and published a number of journal articles and book chapters on ODeL teacher education and ICTs in education.
