Mr Jody Joubert: Technology enthusiast, educator and researcher at the LLITUP

Jody is a technology enthusiast, educator and researcher. He works at the Living Laboratory for Innovative Teaching University of Pretoria (LLITUP). The LLITUP Research unit aims at doing collaborative research in the use of technology in education in various settings with a multitude of stakeholders. Jody was a part of the development of a space, called the LLITUP Collaboratorium, which houses, tests and uses technology for innovation in education at all levels. When he is not playing with the devices in the Collaboratorium, Jody lectures ICT modules in the Faculty of Education. The aim is to deliver educators who are digitally fluent and who educate for the 21st century in an interactive student-centred way.


Ms Gontse Mthelebofu: Lecturer and researcher in the field of Computer-Integrated Education, UP.

Gontse loves to work in the educational technology field. She is passionate about the use of gamification as a pedagogical method in teaching and learning. Her current research is focused on how digital competencies can be addressed through gamification. Gontse works as a Computer Integrated Education (CIE) lecturer in the University of Pretoria Faculty of Education as well as a module coordinator for a distance education ICT module. She also works at the Living Laboratory for Innovative Teaching University of Pretoria (LLITUP) where tests and research of many wonderful things relating to technological innovation takes place.
