In an effort to identify future research needs related to Human Resource Development (HRD) and to expose the HRD fraternity to the contract research and consulting services of Business Enterprises at University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd (BE at UP), on 3-4 March 2014, BE at UP participated in the Human Resource Development Council of South Africas (HRDC) Summit held at Gallagher Estates in Midrand.
The summit was aimed at providing a greater understanding of the roles played by the HRDC in the country's human resource development, reporting to all stakeholders about the research conducted by the Technical Task Teams of the HRDC and also soliciting commitments from different stakeholders towards the implementation of recommendations that will see blockages in the human resource development value chain removed.
The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, delivered a keynote address on Monday, 3 March 2014 at the opening of the Summit followed by the launch of the National Integrated Human Resource Development Plan 2014-2018 which was attended and addressed by the Honourable Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa and the Chairperson of the HRDC, Honourable Kgalema Motlanthe.
BE at UP will be engaging with the relevant HRDC Task Teams in response to the identified opportunities for possible collaboration.
