TUKS 1 vs VUT 1 (men)
58 - 51
This was one of the most amazing games that the Tuks 1 men have played this year. They played with all they had and in the end they came out victorious. It’s never easy to win against VUT men as they are the national champions so a win against them means that you have to really give it your all. This game was a marvel to watch and we are proud of our men.

TUKS 2 vs VUT 2 (men)
82 - 59
VUT is the biggest competition for all teams in the league and the Tuks 2 men expected the games to be a difficult and tightly contested one. The Tuks men started off a bit slow but once they got their rhythm, they played the rest of the game like the champions that they are, defeating VUT 82 – 59.

Ekhuruleni Women’s Tournament: 09 – 11 August 2013
The Tuks 1 ladies participated in the Ekhuruleni Women’s Tournament and managed to come second after losing to VUT ladies in the final.

Tuks 1 beat Lakers (from Zimbabwe) on Friday and lost to VUT on the same day in the group stages. On Saturday they went on to play Ekhuruleni (the host team) and won that game. The Tuks ladies ended up top of their group which meant that they will then face the second position team in group B which was Maxaquene (from Mozambique).

On Sunday the ladies played Maxaquene in the semifinals. It was a very difficult game as Maxaquene has never lost to a team in South Africa so everyone was expecting them to go through to the finals. The Tuks ladies didn’t back down, beating Maxaquene 67 – 61 to progress to the final.

Tuks played VUT in the final and as usual the game was close at all times, the winner was only decided in the last few minutes of the game. The Tuks ladies put up an admirable effort but unfortunately VUT came out victorious with a score of 63 – 57.
