WHAT SHALL I HAVE TO DO?

A) Introductory Taught Component

4 Modules

Shared Interests of Philosophy & Mental Health
             Ethics, Values & Mental Health
Philosophy of Science & Mental Health
Philosophy of Mind & Mental Health

Either through seminar participation or assignments or combination of both
A seminar series or one assignment for each of the modules
Each seminar series runs on 6 main topics of about 2 and half hours per event (about 14 hours per module)
See elsewhere on the webpage for upcoming seminars

The doing of assignments makes participation possible for students who live in other countries or far away

The Oxford Textbook of Philosophy & Psychiatry (Oxford University Press, 2006) will be indispensible in doing the assignments.

B) Dissertation Component

An essay will be required on a chosen topic from each of the modules. It should be between  5 000 and 6 000 words each and these 4 essays will constitute the first 4 sections of a dissertation. The 5th section of the dissertation should be about 10 000 words in length. The respective sections are assessed individually. Students will be encouraged to present at conferences and submit their work for publication
