Massa Inspires AmaTuks to first home win

Posted on November 14, 2014

AmaTuks took the lead as early as the 10th minute after Ajax Cape Town failed to deal with Khethukuthula Zwane's corner ALLOWING Geoffrey Massa to finish from close range. AmaTuks made their intentions clear as they doubled the scoring in the 18th minute as Thabo Mnyamane latched on to a pass from Massa to comfortably finish.

Captain Tebogo Monyai and his resolute defence kept the Ajax attackers at bay and they RESORTED to long range efforts in the first half that did not trouble Washington Arubi. Clifford Mulenga almost pulled one back for Ajax Cape Town after his powerful effort came off the cross bar in the 65th minute.

Arubi pulled of another fine save to deny the Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham a goal in the 72nd minute. Massa had a great chance to score a third goal for AmaTuks as he latched onto a cross but hs header went agonizingly wide.

Geoffrey Massa then sealed his brace and the first three points at home for AmaTuks as he comfortably lobbed the ball over Ansi Jaakkola to make it 3-0 in the 90th minute.

"We can all breathe a bit now that we have got a positive result. We played well as a team and fought for each other on the field. Now we can look forward to the Swallows GAME with a lot of confidence." said Tebogo Monyai

The result means AmaTuks climb one POSITION in the ABSA Premiership table to 14th.
