Dr Elda du Toit, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Financial Management, recently attended the World Finance Conference in Manhattan, New York.

She was a discussant for a paper titled ‘Pricing people-risk: evidence from financial institutions’. She also presented a research paper by herself, Prof J Hall and Mr M Kafesu, titled ‘Do intrinsic values calculated by equity valuation models reflect correct market share prices?’

Other researchers presented on various finance topics, including corporate governance and agency, asset pricing, international finance, and investments, as well as risk management, small business finance, and behavioural corporate finance.

The conference, which takes place in a different location annually, was attended by approximately 350 delegates from all over the world this year.
