Revised LV maintenance schedule for date 12-16 July 2017: Power supply interruptions for essential maintenance on standby power generators’ low voltage boards
Campuses: Hatfield Campus, LC de Villiers Sports Grounds, Prinshof Campus (North and South) and Onderstepoort Campus
Buildings affected: All buildings equipped with standby power generators
Dates: 12 July 2017 to 16 July 2017 (winter recess)
Please note that there will be planned power interruptions on the campuses and in the buildings mentioned above during the University’s winter recess (1 to 16 July).
The interruptions are necessary to do planned maintenance on the low voltage boards of the standby power generators. If this maintenance is not done, the low voltage boards may not function correctly during a municipal power outage. If this happens, the buildings/substation that get power from the relevant standby power generators may be without power for an extended time due to equipment not functioning properly.
No standby power will be available while the maintenance work is underway.
The specific dates and times of power interruptions in individual buildings are indicated in the
attached schedule.
Please conclude all electronic transactions (including financial transactions) ten minutes before the planned power interruptions since the interruptions will affect incomplete transactions.
Please switch off all electrical equipment well in advance of the interruptions.
