Given the grim statistics on research expenditure, the seminar is thus premised on the need to enhance research capacity in the African continent. Research is generally done to inform decision making and policy making, to prove a theory, and contribute to developing knowledge in a field or study. It is important for the continent to support the development of strategies to enhance research and improve
societies across Africa.
