Foraging and behavioural ecology

My research focuses in on the foraging behaviour of marine predators. Specifically how their behaviour influences population dynamics under the stress of environmental change. The identification of the major drivers of foraging movements by bottom-up, top-down or intrinsic controlling factors constitutes my main research aims. Specifically my currently fellowship focusses on the at-sea movement and diving behaviour, and diet of the elusive Ross seal (Ommatophoca rossii) in the eastern Weddell Sea, Antarctica. My other research interests include work on fur seals and southern elephant seals from sub-Antarctic Marion Island.
