Module content

Principles and examples of plant diseases and their socio-economic importance particularly in the context of Africa. Current trends in plant pathology such as biosecurity, sanitary and phytosanitary issues of trade. Risk assessment and international food safety standards. The use of global information systems to assess disease spread and impact of global warming. Supply chain analysis, postharvest technology and food trade and how these aspects relate to the sustainable development goals.
