The Work Integrated Learning office is focused on ensuring that our future teachers have successfully completed their learning-in-practice component of their degree and our focus is mainly on workplace-based learning.
All of the students registered in the Faculty of Education for an undergraduate qualification, a Bachelors in Education Education Degree
Pre-school to grade 3 – Bachelor of Education (BEd): Foundation Phase Teaching
Grades 4 to 6 – BEd Intermediate Phase Teaching
Grades 7 to 12 - BEd Senior and Further Education and Training Phase Teaching
And students registered for the postgraduate qualification, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme are required to complete the work-place based component of WIL during their studies.
The office strives to build beneficial relationships with schools and other stakeholders to allow students to complete this component of their education by means of a structured process that allows supervision by qualified mentors.
The team continuously strives to provide efficient, cost effective and forward thinking solutions to ensure that our UP future teachers are well equipped to go into the workplace after successfully completing their WIL component of their qualification.
