RAG Week 2018

Posted on February 16, 2018

RAG week 2018 was a huge success. It was very different from what RAG used to be in the past, but nonetheless it was still a very fun and beneficial day. In the past, floats were built and paraded in the streets where people could throw money at the floats and that’s how money was raised for charity. This year, management at the university decided to change things to make it more beneficial to charities and safer for the university students. So RAG this year was a day filled with different activities that could be enjoyed by those of all ages. There was a market that sold different home made crafts and also provided services. Each partnership had a different stall to make the crafts or services and manage the stall. There was also live entertainment, touch rugby, soccer and a box car race.

Vividus Ladies and Boekenhout – Boekiedus, created a wonderful stall. We had sweet counting, a photo booth, face painting station, a donating station and henna. We also participated in the rugby and soccer where we made it to the quarter finals in soccer. The box car race started at 2 but due to bad weather it had to be cancelled.

Everyone who participated in the RAG of hope day thoroughly enjoyed it. A platform was built this year, for bigger and better RAG of hope days in the future.
