Senate Conference Articles

The University of Pretoria (UP) hosts an annual Senate Conference, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal. During the conference, delegates convene to reflect and interrogate new developments pertaining to the academic projects as well as deeper engagement on the academic project: teaching and learning, research and community engagement etc. The delegation includes members of the Executive, deans, deputy deans, heads of department, directors and SRC representatives. Each year, an article is published to offer an overview of the university's business for the rest of the year and to shape long-term strategic thinking for the university's future. The article aims to provide the UP community with valuable insights into the theme, discussions and initiatives addressed during the conference.
