The University of Pretoria recognises that it is through the sustained individual and collective actions of our researchers that we are in a position to fulfil our role and strengthen our identity as one of the leading research-intensive university in Africa.
We take pride in profiling here, firstly our rated scientists: the A-rated scientists and all who have received a National Research Foundation (NRF) rating. The increasing number of rated scientists is evidence of the University’s commitment to quality, and to attracting and retaining researchers and academics of the highest distinction.
We also profile the University’s exceptional academic achievers: each year we celebrate academics and researchers who are recognised for their contribution to the University’s research, supervisory, and teaching excellence.
Finally, it is fitting to group with leaders in research an important and long-standing initiative of the Vice-Chancellor and Principal: the Expert Lecture Series showcasing the work of individual researchers and their engagement with the broader public on issues of scientific and societal relevance.
